social enterprise london

For any up and coming business, particulary those with a social impact as part of their core mission. (Hence the term social enterprize)

Social enterprise london is the place to be. Find them on www.sel.org.uk

We went to an event that they held at the Business Design centre in Angel on Monday and it was amazing. They had a wide range of speakers from different types of business's and they had lots of tips and techniques that would help any business.

I particulary was inspired by Charlotte Borger from Divine Chocolate ( or was it just the chocolate, mmm?) the story of how the company started and the fact that 45% of the business is owned by cocoa farmers in ghana and the amazing opportunity that the association has provided for them, and to think in the beginning people said 'it would never work...sounds all to familiar' you can check out the wonderful things divine are doing at www.divinechocoltate.com

And Sam connif from livity was hilarious, his tales of the highs and lows of an entrepreneur left us all in stitches and wondering if we all were truly quite mad for embarking on this daring venture. I hadn't realised that livity was connected to live magazine, which I happen to read and did some journalism courses with them in the past. Shout out team live.

All in all it was a great event, the venue, was cool, the food was delicious and It was even sweeter seeing as I had to sneak my way in, but don't tell anyone will you.
